What is Withdrawal method? (lat. coitus interruptus)
  • When a man pulls out his penis before ejaculation
  • Theoretically, this is a way of avoiding the entrance of sperm into the vagina, but more exactly, this only reduces the risk of pregnancy and sexually spread diseases because sperm can be located in the pre-sperm liquid
What are the advantages?
  • It is the only method that is always available, but very unreliable
  • There are no side-effects
  • There are no advantages
What are the disadvantages?
  • There is no protection against sexually spread diseases
  • It interferes the sexual intercourse
  • It isn’t recommendable for young people, nor for people with weak self-control
  • It reduces the pleasure during sex
The level of effectiveness of the “stopping the intercourse” method is extremely low
