A bacterial infection (Chlamydia trachomatis) – treatment with antibiotics
It is estimated that there are 4 million newly diseased people every year.

Women – the infection is named chlamidic cervicitis

Men – the bacteria is the usual cause for urine pipe infection (bacterial urethritis)

Children – a high risk of strong eye, ear or lung infection (transmit during labor through the vagina)

Usually the symptoms don’t occur, but if they do, the usual symptoms are:
  • Irregular vaginal secretion (among women)
  • Strong impulse for urination and stinging
  • Bleeding between two menstrual periods (among women)
  • Pain in the lower part of the stomach
  • Pain during deep penetration while having sex
Without treatment, it could sometimes lead to infection of the small vulva organs, which is the main cause of women infertility (for example, weak passage and oviduct shrinking). This disorder could cause arthritis within the circulatory system.

The infection is confirmed by:
  • The PAPA-test
The partner who is carrying the infection:
  • Chlamidia is suspected during tests for infertility, which occurs as a complication. A routine control is suggested to sexual active women who have a high risk, and among them are those who have previously been treated against sexually spread diseases or those who have more sexual partners.
  • This infection rarely occurs again, but if it ever does occur again, the treatment procedure is expected to be the same. Diseased sexual partners should test their selves even if there are no symptoms, and treat if necessary.
